A TRAINING SEMINAR WAS ORGANIZED BY OUR UNIVERSITY FARMER EDUCATION CENTER (13 MARCH 2018)

​A training seminar was organized by Iğdır University Farmer Training Center for agricultural producers in Melekli Town. The problems encountered in animal production and solution suggestions were discussed in the training seminar held on Friday, March 8.

In the seminar, conducted in a question-and-answer format, solutions were proposed for several issues, including the marketing problems of plant products, low apple yield, early flowering in apricots, the presence of weeds in corn, alfalfa weevil pests, and red spider mites found on trees.​

During the seminar, agricultural producers mentioned facing significant problems in livestock farming due to the lack of veterinarians in the town. They proposed the establishment of a cooperative, which would include faculty members from the Faculty of Agriculture, as a solution. Additionally, recommendations were made regarding the timely application of pesticides, more frequent checks of early warning systems, diversification of crops, and the proper selection of fertilization methods and amounts.
