Under the coordination of Assoc. The visit was carried out with the vehicle bearing the license plate 76 DD 015, owned by our university, accompanied by Dr. Mehmet Salih BAYRAKTUTAN, Faculty Member from the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Okan ÖZBAKIR, Faculty Member from the Technical Sciences Vocational School, and Lecturer Seyfullah Sinan ATEŞ. The observations and impressions related to the visits are detailed below.
Kula Village is located approximately 87 km from Iğdır city center, on the Iğdır-Kağızman road, 2 km away from the main road. To the south of the village, approximately 15-20 km away, there is a chromium mine. Upon examination of the chromium mine, it was observed that mining activities had been conducted in the past, but currently, no operations are taking place. Valuable minerals such as chromium, iron, copper, and others were found in the mine. Samples taken from the mine were collected by the relevant professors and brought to our university's laboratory for analysis..
Yağlı Village is located 25 km from Tuzluca, to the northeast of Tuzluca. It was determined that andesite and basalt stones are present in the interior and exterior architecture of buildings as well as in the flooring materials of the village. After conducting a field evaluation, the relevant professors took sample specimens for further examination.
Arslanlı Village is located 28 km from Tuzluca, to the northeast of Tuzluca. It was determined that red-colored volcanic slag, which could be used as road paving material, is found in the village. Samples were taken and brought to our university for display and further examination.
