Farmer Visits in Kazancı Village to Find Solutions to Problems Encountered in Vegetable Production
In order to find solutions to the problems faced by our producers and to increase efficiency in agricultural production, farmer visits were carried out in the vegetable production areas in the central Kazancı village of Iğdır province on 21.08.2025.
Participating in the visits were Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsmail ALASERHAT, Director of our University's Farmer Education Application and Research Center, Dr. Lecturer Murat GÜVEN, Assistant Director Dr. Lecturer Nagihan KILIÇ from the Technical Sciences Vocational School, and Res. Assistant Seren DOĞAR from the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Plant Protection.
During inspections in Kazancı village, producers discussed common diseases and pests in vegetable production, weed management, correct use of pesticides and dosages, the effectiveness of cultural practices, and the impact of irrigation techniques on yield. Additionally, recommendations for biological control methods, integrated pest management, and soil health protection were shared.
Experts emphasized the importance of information sharing and university-farmer collaboration in solving problems encountered in agricultural production, and stated that our university will continue to provide technical support and consultancy services to farmers in the region.
