A training seminar was organized by the Iğdır University Farmer Training Center for agricultural producers in Melekli Town. The seminar, held on Friday, March 8, focused on the issues encountered in animal production and potential solutions.
During the seminar, which was conducted in a question-and-answer format, solutions were proposed for various issues, including the marketing problems of plant products, low apple productivity, early flowering in apricots, the presence of weeds in corn, alfalfa weevils, and red spider mites found on trees.
During the seminar, agricultural producers highlighted significant issues in livestock farming due to the lack of veterinarians in the town. They proposed the establishment of a cooperative, including faculty members from the Faculty of Agriculture, as a potential solution. Additionally, suggestions were made on topics such as timely pesticide application in agricultural products, more frequent checks of early warning systems, diversifying crops, and selecting the correct fertilization methods and amounts.
